RESIDENTIAL INSPECTION & OCCUPANCY PERMIT INFORMATION:
- The owner of the property or owner’s agent must come into City Hall and request an inspection of the
property. The fee for this inspection is $40.00 and the results of the inspection are good for 120 days.
After the property is inspected, the Building Commissioner will notify the owner in writing of the property’s
degree of compliance.
- If corrections are necessary, the owner is responsible for making the changes and, when completed,
must call the City Hall to set up a re-inspection. (This re-inspection, if done within 120 days, is included
in the cost of the original inspection.)
- When the property complies with Rock Hill’s code, the Occupancy Permit can be issued. The occupant
must then come into City Hall and fill out the Occupancy Permit application. There is a $5.00 fee for the Occupancy
Permit. A "Welcome Packet" containing the City Calendar, information about trash service, and other helpful
items is presented to the new occupant along with the Occupancy Permit.
- After these procedures are completed, the new occupant may move in.
